To create a successful image campaign for a small business, a business owner must consider the three main components of what constitutes “Image”.
One: The first component is the physical placements of the business and it’s surroundings, especially with businesses that require customers to receive or pickup services on-site. - The firm’s physical locality & neighborhood
- Signage and identification
- What is the word on the street about the business, good or bad?
- Reputations are greatly impacted by their involvement in customers’ communities
Two: The second component is a company’s visual communications strategy, including its:
- logo
- slogan or tagline
- stationary system (business cards, letterhead, envelopes, note cards)
- graphic standards
- packaging
- delivery vehicles
Three: The third component of a good image campaign is a company’s advertising and sales promotions, which requires planning and research. This includes:
- print ads
- newsletters
- direct mail
- billboards
- radio and TV
- internet advertising, usually centered around a web site
- multi-media presentations
